Dr. Alexandra Yu was born and raised in Houston Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010, where she received a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Japanese. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 2014.
Being a true Texas girl, as soon as an opportunity arose to move back to her home state she took it. She applied and was accepted to a one-year small animal rotating internship in San Antonio.
She decided to join the Rice Village Animal hospital team “because of the friendly and helpful staff, the high quality of medicine, and the opportunity to learn more.”
Dr. Yu is interested in soft tissue surgery, holistic medicine, as well as behavior and preventative care. She hopes to become certified in acupuncture in the future.
In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her “fur kids,” a lab mix, Kuro, and a cat, Fai.
