We’re dedicated to your pet’s care.
The veterinarians and care team at Rice Village Animal Hospital works tirelessly to provide compassionate care for your pet.

Dr. Taylor Krueger
Veterinarian
Dr. Taylor Krueger is a native Houstonian. He was drawn to veterinary medicine after volunteering at a local animal shelter. Caring for his beloved first dog, Riley, during undergrad then led Dr. Krueger to pursue his education at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in the West Indies. While there, he enjoyed island life and built a vast network of colleagues across the U.S. Keeping in regular contact with his peers challenges him to strive for excellence in veterinary medicine. Dr. Krueger finished his clinical year at Texas A&M and graduated from Ross in 2014.
Since receiving his DVM, Dr. Krueger has practiced in Houston and Sugar Land. His professional interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, preventative medicine, shelter medicine, and education.
His personal interests include hanging out with his dog Brody (13-year-old Australian Kelpie), camping, hiking, fishing, cooking/grilling, traveling, and enjoying the amazing food in the Houston area with family and friends.

Dr. Rita Jou
Veterinarian
Dr. Jou attended the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusetts where she obtained both her Masters and Doctoral degrees. She practiced as a small animal veterinarian for several years in Boston prior to her move to Texas in 2018. Dr. Jou’s clinical interests lie in preventative health, nutrition, and behavior.
In her time away from the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her family, which include her husband, two young children, two dogs, and an elderly cat.

Austen
Veterinary Technician
Austen is a mom to 2 beautiful daughters, Kaylee and Tegan and owns many pets which include 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 rats, 2 turtles and 1 snake. Austen and her family enjoy watching anime at home, fishing, hiking and camping and will take her fur babies with them every chance she can get. She enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of not only the patients she works with, but for their owners as well.

Anita Martinez
Practice Manager
She enjoys spending time with her family, most importantly her young daughter Selene. She is so excited to watch her grow! She is also going to school to obtain an Associates Degree in Animal Sciences. Anita has three pets: “Lacy,” a Pitbull Terrier; “Jasmine,” a chocolate Lab mix; and a cat named “Duncan.” In her spare time, she enjoys reading, music, kickboxing and outdoor activities.
Anita says, “I love animals and get satisfaction when helping pets. I like to have the opportunity to make a difference in any way possible!” Here she is pictured with a regular patient “Bella.”
